Roma, Italy
While many people told us that Rome is just another big city and can be slightly under-whelming…we felt the complete opposite! We LOVED every second in Rome! We both have a bit of a knack for history which Rome is INSANELY rich in! The food was amazing, getting around was very easy, the airport was beautiful, we already can’t wait to go back!

OTHER Spots + Restaraunts
Piazza Novana — A MUST visit in Rome. There are so many classic sights to see, it’s hard to choose!
Spanish Steps — 100% worth hanging out here and getting in a bit of shopping!
Cantina y Cocina — Was a highlight of all the restaurants we tried in Rome!
The Pantheon - Another incredible building worth going to see!
Venchi Gelato - When you’re ready for some of the best Gelato in the city (according to our local driver!) make sure you stop by Venchi.
Ristorante L’arcano Roma - Our first dinner spot when we got to the city, that did NOT disappoint!
After a quick repositioning flight from ATL to LGA on southwest airlines (using our companion pass), we hustled across town from LGA to JFK just in time to make our flight from New York’s JFK airport to Rome’s FCO airport. We flew Alitalia Airlines which we got our roundtrip tickets on sale for $325 Roundtrip! Shout out to the sky scanner for helping us find the cheapest dates! Unfortunately, since we cut our flight so close (our repositioning flight got delayed a few hours so we got to JFK 30min before takeoff and somehow still managed to make our flight!), our bags didn’t make the flight. So after arriving in Rome around 6 am, we took a taxi for about $55USD from FCO, and had them drop us off at the trevi fountain to wander around and sightsee while we waited to be able to check into our Air BnB.
We spent 3 nights in Rome and walked mostly everywhere. We took uber a few times if we were going far or didn’t feel like walking but the entire city was so much fun to walk around and we always felt safe.
